Hello! Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my approach. Please contact me if you have additional questions not on the FAQ page or want to schedule a free 10-minute phone consultation.

My Approach

I view mental and behavioral health in the context of human relationships. I know oppression and injustice in society hurt families as a whole, often with effects that last generations. Therefore, issues of belonging, safety, agency, hope, and other basic human rights are at the core of my work. To meet my clients’ unique needs, I draw on an eclectic mix of interventions taken from some of the best traditions in systemic family therapy, including narrative, humanist-experiential, cognitive-behavioral, and more. My counseling style is warm, playful, and collaborative. I believe people of all ages need to feel heard, understood, and cared about, so I strive to bring thoughtfulness and whole-heartedness to my work with clients. I specialize in using play and other developmentally appropriate and strengths-based counseling approaches with children to transform anxiety and aggression into confidence and security. I aim to help people of all ages understand themselves better and have specialized training in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Synergetic Play Therapy, and Child-Parent Psychotherapy. As a certified instructor of Hand in Hand Parenting, I support parents with good developmental information, helpful perspectives, and connection-based parenting tools grounded in the latest developmental neuroscience and attachment research. I want to help strengthen relationships, bring fun to family life, and furnish both children and parents with access to the emotional support they need to recover from past hurts and emerge from rigid behaviors.
